In October 2020 a center for education, disease prevention and recreation was installed at the LWDF clinic in Agou. The education center was opened with the begin of an ambitious tailoring and sewing training for girls.more
An elementary school in Agou lacked tables and benches, a situation which made teaching how to read and write very difficult. When LWDF was informed about this, a remedy could soon be found.more

In the year 2018 LWDF Germany could buy an used ambulance car and ship it to Togo. This car is since then based in Lomé and operating from there.more
In June and July 2018 Light in the World Development Foundation was able to organize two medical missions with experts from the USA in Togo. A surgical team was there in June and was able to provide vaccinations and perform one emergency c-section and six knee replacement surgeries. The medical team cared for people suffering from chronic pain, malaria, pyloric stenosis, wounds, and more. In total, both teams cared for 647 patients during their time in Togo.more
On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in the Togolese capital of Lomé, Dr. Komi Folly, president of LWDF, met with Mrs. Abra Afetsé-Tay, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and African Integration. Together, they signed a Headquarter Agreement aimed to formalize the installation of LWDF in Togo.more

Light in the World Development Foundation is so determined to help rebuild some of the crumbling schools in Togo and other parts of Africa. As a result, it subsidized in August 2015 a construction of a school ( see picture) at Ando Kope ( Agou- Togo). The public participated by 10% of the cost to rebuild this school. The children are extremely happy to have this school because they are safe and will no longer be concerned about any danger while they are in their classes.more
Many young girls are not able to go to school because of lack of financial support which is estimated at 200 to 300 dollars a year.more
Togo, twice the size of Maryland, is on the south coast of West Africa bordering on Ghana to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, and Benin to the east. The Gulf of Guinea coastline, only 32 mi long (51 km), is low and sandy.more
