Center for education, disease prevention and recreation in Agou 2020
Because of the corona pandemia medical mission trips of doctors from the United States planned in 2020 unfortunately had to be canceled respectively transferred to the following year.
In October 2020 a center for education, disease prevention and recreation was installed at the LWDF clinic in Agou. Sick people can get ambulant treatment and grave cases calling for stationary treatment will be taken by ambulance car to the hospital in Lomé.
The education center was opened with the begin of an ambitious tailoring and sewing training for girls. Equipment including sewing machines had been procured and the course could begin as planned. This training will take three years and will end with the attendees receiving a certificate about their skills issued by the state. Textile companies in Togo have asserted their interest in the participants but they may also use their skills to establish their own enterprise.
The beginning of the training was celebrated with an opening ceremony attended by leading persons from the administration of the prefecture.
